Amanda Bender
Graduate Student

Amanda was a graduate student in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences from September 2012 until her successful Ph.D. defense in July 2017. She has a passion for understanding the evolutionary history of plants, and examined questions combining the study of plant evolution and isotope geochemistry.

Prior to arriving at WashU, Amanda was an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, where she studied Geology & German. Since completing her Ph.D. Amanda has moved to Boulder, CO where she is working on a new set of investigations in collaboration with Boz Wing.
